O sweet Independence, my Independence
Let my dreamy eyes and stretched wings enjoy the grandeur of
boundlessness
Where I am not told what to do and where every movement I
make is not tracked
Countless brave hearts laid their lives, so we sing ‘head
held high’ #schoolprayers
But standing on the 68th Independence day, I still
demand my freedom
Who defined that I love to flutter in the kitchen with
pearls and riches
I want to flip my own pages and lay my own roads but Can I?
NO!! Coz there are
things to do and roads to travel that I shouldn't
I shouldn't coz there are some cowards lurking around that
stalks their prey in their solitude
Some douche-bags who would confine to their lazy recliner with disdainful attitude
And shamelessly blame women for adoring risky cloths and
high heels
For the rest hypocrite souls for whom wheels of time and
zillion other stuffs will evade everything
But I will be the one to face atrocities in succession with
my subdued voice
My vindictive heart clinging to the spell of valor will
enter abyss of depression
Honestly, no more are ghosts, ghouls, thieves seem dangerous
True danger is so much more insidious
The beast residing in some of those masquerading as friendly
spirits
I am not rebellious, just that I need my space to grow
No, do not judge me wrong !!
I am not scared to go out into the killing fields
Or move alone in this world of limiting stereotypes
But I want to question, why the culprits of this heinous
crime live free
Who will answer for the little girl who turned into a martyr
protecting her honor
For the hurricanes of fear, apprehensions we carry on our
shoulders every time we walk alone
For all insecurities we face, for all downtrodden look on us
The betrayal faced by almost every girl, where each part of
her body is discussed and debated on
I might have actually failed to capture the trauma that my
sisters endure
But giving up in not in my blood, I will fight!! I will
fight till it takes all of me
Coz I hope to breakfree to better this world
Coz the pursuit to happiness is to trust in Hope
Coz I believe that there will be a tomorrow with brighter
dawn
